Kyle’s planning how to spend his big win
Kyle Burke is celebrating a fantastic win after scoring the top prize on The National Lottery’s £20,000 A Month For A Year Scratchcard. Kyle bought his ticket on Thursday 19th March, before the nationwide Coronavirus lockdown started.
Kyle said, “I popped to the local shop for a few bits and bobs and decided to have a go on a Scratchcard. The thought of winning every month more than I earn in a year sounded too good an opportunity to miss.”
After getting home, he scratched the card and realising he’d won, he dashed back to the shop to ask them to check it. Kyle said, “I was shaking and so nervous. The shop assistant told me to call The National Lottery so I did. During the phone call they asked me for the shop details, so I ran around again and asked the same lady behind the counter for all that information while still on the phone.”
Kyle kept his lucky Scratchcard in a box in his bedroom before his amazing win was confirmed by Camelot. And while the traditional celebrations will have to wait, he has promised his family a big party when the time is right.
Kyle said, “I know how tough it is for everybody at the moment, especially with my Dad working for the NHS. But not celebrating and staying at home is the right thing to do. It gives me a lot longer to think about what I’m going to spend my money on.”
Once things get back to normal, Kyle is keen to get his driving licence. Once that’s done, he’s going to get a car of his own with his prize.
With everyone in the UK currently being advised to stay indoors unless absolutely essential, the best way to check winning tickets is using the National Lottery app or website.
