A lucky woman from Rochford in Essex couldn't believe her eyes when she won a staggering £3Million on a Scratchcard.
Susan Richards, who works as a carer, said, "It would be an understatement to say I am on cloud nine, I'm on cloud three million! I just can't believe it's happened to little old me but looking back, it's almost like fate had decided I was going to win.
Just finishing a nightshift the mum of two decided to treat herself after finding the precise amount she needed to purchase the fateful Scratchcard in her pocket. She explained, "When I put my hand in my pocket I pulled out the exact change, four £2, one £1, one 50p, a couple of 20ps and a 10p. Taking this as a sign I had a quiet chuckle to myself and bought the treat."
Not one to rest on her laurels Susan has already started on her 'when I win the lottery' wishlist purchasing not one but four cars at the weekend, one for each of her sons, one for her partner Barry and a Audi TT convertible for herself. Susan said, "I can't tell you what an amazing feeling it was to go to the dealership and buy four cars in one go like that. I plan to enjoy my win and treat the people I love at the same time."
Susan puts her win down to a little helping hand from her dad who passed away 10 years ago. She said, "He was wonderful and I still miss him every day but he always used to say he'd win the lottery and take us all to the States when he did. Sadly it didn't happen for him but as I sat there in my car trying to compute I'd won £3Million a little white feather drifted down onto the windscreen. I don’t care what anyone says, that was my dad letting me know he was celebrating for me up there."
Now that she's ticked new cars off her shopping list an ecstatic Susan is on the lookout for a motorhome so she can pack up and hit the road anytime she wants. She said, "Of course we'll need a new house with a decent driveway to park it on so we will be house-hunting this week too. It doesn’t need to be huge, but it must have a swimming pool! I'm also going to fulfil my dad's dream of taking my family to Florida to celebrate my fiftieth later this year. This money really is completely life changing for me and my family, they say 'life begins at fifty' and now I couldn't agree more."
