By George, he’s won a £145,757 EuroMillions prize!
George Muir regularly plays EuroMillions, but almost forgot to buy a ticket for the draw on Friday 3rd May 2024.
Luckily, something jogged his memory and, with just hours to go, he bought a EuroMillions Lucky Dip. Now, the 60-year-old from Fife is £145,757 better off after nabbing an incredible EuroMillions prize.
Celebrating his win at a site with views of the majestic Firth of Forth, George said, “I always play a month in advance and always purchase my EuroMillions tickets online. It was 3pm on the Friday of the draw when I suddenly remembered I hadn’t bought my ticket.”
George, who works for a renewable energy company, decided to buy a EuroMillions Lucky Dip. But it wasn’t until the day after the draw, when he and his partner Sandra, 64, returned home from celebrating their 28th anniversary, that he learned he’d won a big prize.
George said, “I was just scrolling through my emails as you do, when I came to one from The National Lottery telling me there was news about my ticket. I just assumed that if I had won something that it would be a few pounds, so I didn’t rush to check.
“I actually went on to The National Lottery website to look at the numbers just for the novelty value and then, to my total disbelief, I discovered I had matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number! I literally dropped my phone! My heart was beating so fast.”
George and Sandra have their eyes on a new car and are planning a family holiday. He added, “Thanks to my National Lottery win I am now able to do some things I could previously only have dreamed of doing.”
